This is an impressive large, bulky species very similar to the Brazilian Black (G.pulchra) but also has long red setae (hairs) underneath its legs, it is also considered by some as another locality (Southern Form) of G.mollicoma. It is as docile as a spider and are like little Kittens, this making an ideal species for the novice. It is a very hardy species and does not require any special attention. Provide the enclosure with a deep substrate, water bowl and flower pot hide and then sit back and watch. It is a very calm spider and does not spin much web. It is a very good display species and spends a lot of time out in the open and bulldozes the substrate around the enclosure.
