It is possible the material in the hobby may be one or more species. This species is part of a complex called the Reduncus Group which incudes all of the Central American species of Psalmopoeus.

This tarantula is brown with olive carapace hair and no abdominal pattern. The legs are black but have distinctive widened scopulae like all arboreal spiders. Spiderlings undergo a minor form of ontogenetic colour change, and adult males are sexually dimorphic like other species in the Reduncus Group created by Gabriel & Sherwood (2020).

Like most new world arboreals, this tarantula is best housed on coir with a cork bark tube hide and a water bowl. They prefer temperatures between 21 and 23 degrees celcius, slightly cooler than other Psalmopoeus but can be kept a little hotter.
