Heteropteryx dilatata

These are a great starter species and are great for display as they are very impressive when adult. The females grow to 15cm and are very heavily built with a lime green colouration. They are not fast breeders, females typically lay around 100 – 150 eggs though which take 10 – 16 months to hatch.

Food: Bramble, Hawthorn, Rose, Mango (Mangifera indica), Hazel, Red/ Yellow Salmon Berry, Ivy. When changing the food lightly spray with water and shake off the excess to allow the insects to drink.
