Cilantica psychadelicus

A distinctive new species of ground burrowing tarantula from from Kerala State, India.

Cilantica psychedelicus sp. nov. differs from putative species of the genus in the adults being black overall with a metallic blue lustre on the carapace and abdomen.

Females of Thrigmopoeus psychedelicus sp. nov. exhibit polychromatism. I guess we will just let the pictures do the talking.

As slings you’d want to give some burrowing depth (see the setup bits below👇 ), so a spiderling arboreal box 1/2 full of substrate for them to burrow down on them, offer a water bowl on the surface.
