A very unusual Alipes species with a pair of long back legs with a feather shapes at the tip and a distinctive black head. They move their tail when threatened, and they make a hissing noise with the motion. Like all Scolopendra they are pretty easy to keep though are very fast and aggressive so only suited to experienced keepers.
!!!Caution!!!
Centipedes can bite and can be considered dangerous and must not be handled. We strongly recommend using a pair of forceps for moving this species and make sure that they are kept in an escape proof terrarium.
