Homoeomma chilensis

One of my favourite species. I don’t like to use word cute when talking about spiders but there is no other word to describe these. Adults are a deep velvet black with small white hairs. There most attractive feature is the intense orange/red tuft of hair on the top of the abdomen and an orange ring around the spinnerets.

These are a nice slow moving, docile species that will not bite or flick hair ideal for novices but unusual enough to interest advanced keepers. They also seem easier to breed than a lot of the other Chilean species.

Slings hatch out very small, so really need to be kept in a spiderling pot (if not available on the site ask us and we’ll find one for you!), about half full with substrate and then a small corner moistened with a pipette. (See below for essential items!)

Are an awesome species to keep who’s popularity has never died down due to being super chilled and relatively cute!
